Salon Policies

The important bits

At Inked Beauty Bar, your safety, comfort, and experience are extremely important to us. Our artists reserve dedicated time for every appointment and follow professional sanitation, health, and service standards.

Please review the following policies before booking. By scheduling an appointment, completing your client forms, and receiving a service, you acknowledge and agree to these policies.

Client Forms and Health Information

All required intake, consent, and medical history forms must be completed accurately before your service begins.

Please disclose all relevant medical conditions, allergies, medications, supplements, skin conditions, previous reactions, and recent treatments. This information allows your artist to determine whether the service can be performed safely.

Inked Beauty Bar may request written medical clearance before providing a service when a health condition, medication, previous reaction, or recent medical treatment could affect your safety, healing, or results.

Failure to disclose relevant information may result in your appointment being postponed or the service being declined.

Medications and Supplements

Some prescription medications, over-the-counter medications, supplements, and topical skincare products may affect sensitivity, bleeding, bruising, healing, or pigment retention.

Do not discontinue a prescribed medication or medically necessary supplement unless instructed to do so by the healthcare provider who prescribed or recommended it.

Contact Inked Beauty Bar before your appointment when you:

  • Take blood-thinning medication.
  • Take medication for acne or a skin condition.
  • Use prescription retinoids or strong exfoliating products.
  • Have recently started a new medication or supplement.
  • Have a condition that affects your immune system, blood, heart, skin, or ability to heal.
  • Have experienced a previous allergic reaction to pigments, dyes, adhesives, metals, topical anesthetics, or beauty products.

Your artist may modify, postpone, or decline a service when proceeding could create an unreasonable risk.

Pregnancy and Breastfeeding

Inked Beauty Bar does not perform permanent makeup, cosmetic tattooing, or fine-line tattoo services on clients who are pregnant.

Clients who are breastfeeding must contact us before booking a permanent makeup or tattoo service. Depending on the procedure and individual circumstances, the appointment may need to be postponed or medical clearance may be requested.

Age and Identification Requirements

Clients must be at least 18 years old to receive permanent makeup, cosmetic tattooing, or fine-line tattoo services at Inked Beauty Bar.

A valid government-issued photo ID may be required before the service is performed.

Age requirements for other beauty services may vary. A parent or legal guardian may be required to provide consent for an eligible minor receiving a non-tattoo service.

When a Service May Need to Be Postponed

Please contact us before your appointment if you have:

  • An active infection, illness, fever, or contagious condition.
  • Open wounds, sores, rashes, irritation, or sunburn in the treatment area.
  • A current cold sore or recent cold-sore outbreak before a lip service.
  • A recent facial, peel, laser treatment, injectable treatment, surgery, or other procedure near the treatment area.
  • Recently used products or medications that significantly thin or irritate the skin.
  • A condition that may interfere with healing.
  • Been advised by a medical provider to avoid elective cosmetic procedures.

Final service eligibility is determined by the treating artist based on the information available at the time of the appointment.

Preparing for Your Appointment

Clients are responsible for reviewing and following all service-specific preparation instructions provided by Inked Beauty Bar.

Preparation requirements vary depending on the service and may include temporarily avoiding certain skincare products, cosmetic treatments, excessive sun exposure, alcohol, strenuous activity, or other activities that could affect the procedure or healing process.

Please arrive sober and able to provide informed consent. Inked Beauty Bar will not perform a service on anyone who appears impaired by alcohol, recreational substances, medication, or another condition that affects judgment or consent.

Do not make changes to prescription medications without consulting your healthcare provider.

Cancellation Policy

We completely understand that life happens. We have artists, however, who rely on scheduled appointments. Cancellations must be made a minimum of 4 working days (excludes holidays and weekends) before your scheduled appointment. Cancellations made later than this time frame for ANY REASON will be subject to the following policy:

  • 3 days before service = 15% of service price
  • 2 days before service = 25% of service price
  • 1 day before service = 50% of service price. Same-day cancellations
  • no-show = 100% of service price

Rescheduling with less than 48 hours’ notice will result in a $75 rescheduling fee.

Please remember that our artist’s time is valuable, just as yours is! Filling a last-minute opening is difficult and most times, impossible. If you have questions or concerns about our cancellation or rescheduling policy, please call the salon directly. We appreciate your understanding!

Arrival and Late Appointments

Please arrive on time and allow additional time for traffic, parking, and locating the studio.

Our services require careful preparation, consultation, and attention to detail. Appointments cannot be rushed without affecting quality or safety.

Clients arriving more than 10 minutes late may have their service shortened, modified, or rescheduled. Whether the appointment can continue will depend on the service, the artist’s schedule, and the amount of time remaining.

Please refer to your appointment confirmation for the correct studio entrance, parking information, and arrival instructions.

Children and Guests

Due to safety, sanitation, insurance, and concentration requirements, children are not permitted in treatment rooms and may not be left unattended in the studio.

Please arrange childcare before your appointment.

Unless assistance is medically necessary or approved in advance, guests must remain in the designated waiting area and may not enter the treatment room.

Space in the waiting area may be limited.

Consultation and Design Approval

Permanent makeup and cosmetic tattoo appointments include a consultation before the procedure begins.

During the consultation, your artist may discuss:

  • Your desired shape, color, style, and level of definition.
  • Your skin type and natural features.
  • Your previous permanent makeup or tattoo history.
  • Realistic expectations for healing and pigment retention.
  • Whether the requested result is appropriate and achievable.

For services involving a pre-drawn design, the client will have an opportunity to review and approve the design before tattooing begins.

Once the client approves the design and the procedure begins, significant changes may require an additional appointment and additional fees.

Previous Permanent Makeup or Tattoo Work

All existing permanent makeup, microblading, cosmetic tattooing, and tattoo work must be disclosed before booking.

Clients with previous work may be required to submit clear, makeup-free photographs for approval. Previous pigment can affect the color, shape, technique, and final result of a new service.

Inked Beauty Bar may determine that correction, lightening, removal, or additional sessions are necessary before new work can be performed.

Appointments booked without disclosing previous work may be modified or declined if the requested service cannot be performed appropriately.

Perfecting Sessions and Touch-Ups

Permanent makeup is often a multi-step process. Healing and pigment retention vary between clients, and a perfecting session may be recommended after the initial procedure.

The appropriate timing for a perfecting session depends on the service, healing progress, skin condition, and artist recommendation. Clients should follow the timeframe provided by their artist.

Perfecting sessions, touch-ups, and color boosts are separate appointment types. Pricing, eligibility, and what is included may vary based on the original service, artist, and length of time since the previous appointment.

Waiting beyond the recommended timeframe may cause the appointment to be classified and priced as a color boost, maintenance appointment, correction, or new service.

Healing and Aftercare

Clients are responsible for following all written and verbal aftercare instructions.

The treated area may temporarily appear darker, brighter, swollen, red, uneven, or more defined immediately following a procedure. Flaking, dryness, tenderness, and changes in color may occur during healing.

Do not pick, peel, scratch, or intentionally remove healing skin.

Failure to follow aftercare instructions may negatively affect healing, pigment retention, appearance, and eligibility for corrective work.

Contact Inked Beauty Bar with questions or concerns regarding normal healing. Seek appropriate medical care for symptoms that may indicate an infection, severe allergic reaction, or medical emergency.

Results and Longevity

Results vary from person to person. Skin type, age, health, medications, lifestyle, sun exposure, skincare products, aftercare, previous work, and individual healing response can all affect the final outcome.

Permanent makeup and cosmetic tattooing are designed to fade gradually. No artist can guarantee an exact healed color, perfect symmetry, complete pigment retention, or a specific length of time before maintenance is needed.

Additional sessions may be required to achieve or maintain the desired result.

Natural facial features are not perfectly symmetrical. Our artists work carefully to create balance while respecting each client’s natural anatomy.

Allergies and Sensitivities

Clients must disclose known or suspected allergies and sensitivities before receiving a service.

A patch test may be recommended or required for certain services. A patch test cannot identify or prevent every possible sensitivity or delayed reaction.

Receiving a service after reviewing the known risks does not guarantee that an allergic or sensitivity reaction will not occur.

Photography and Client Privacy

Inked Beauty Bar may take before, during, and after photographs for confidential client records, service documentation, quality assurance, and treatment planning.

Photos or videos will not be used for public marketing, advertising, social media, education, or promotional purposes without the client’s consent.

Clients may decline marketing photography without affecting the quality of their service.

Personal Belongings

Clients are responsible for securing their personal belongings during their appointment.

Inked Beauty Bar is not responsible for lost, stolen, forgotten, or damaged personal property.

Respectful Conduct

Inked Beauty Bar is committed to maintaining a professional, safe, and respectful environment for clients, artists, employees, and guests.

Threatening, abusive, discriminatory, harassing, sexually inappropriate, disruptive, or unsafe behavior will not be tolerated. Inked Beauty Bar reserves the right to end an appointment, refuse service, or restrict future booking when a person’s conduct compromises the safety or comfort of others.

Right to Refuse or Modify a Service

Inked Beauty Bar and its artists reserve the right to refuse, postpone, discontinue, or modify a service when:

  • The service cannot be performed safely.
  • A client is not an appropriate candidate.
  • Required forms or identification have not been provided.
  • Relevant medical or treatment information has not been disclosed.
  • The requested result is unrealistic, unsuitable, or outside the artist’s professional scope.
  • The client appears impaired or unable to provide informed consent.
  • The client’s behavior creates a safety or professional concern.
  • Proceeding could compromise the client’s health, healing, or results.

Any recommendation to postpone or decline a service is made with the client’s safety and the quality of the outcome in mind.

Policy Updates

Inked Beauty Bar may update these policies as services, safety standards, legal requirements, or business practices change.

The policy in effect on the date of the client’s appointment will apply.
